As a Product Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of innovative products, taking ideas from blank-page concept all the way through to production-ready solutions.
You will be involved in every stage of the development journey: early research and feasibility, detailed design, CAD modelling, hands-on prototyping, rigorous testing, and seamless transfer to manufacture. Working closely with talented internal teams and trusted external partners, you will help deliver high-performance products built for real-world, demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities- Lead the end-to-end design and development of new products, from initial concept to full production release.
- Research, generate, and refine design concepts, assessing feasibility and technical risks.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and comprehensive engineering documentation for manufacturing.
- Build, assemble, and test functional prototypes both in-house and in real-world conditions.
- Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes that balance performance, cost, and quality.
- Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and support tooling, costing, and manufacturability assessments.
- Collaborate with supply chain partners to ensure designs are scalable, robust, and production-ready.
- Support pre-production sample reviews and sign-off processes.
- Work with marketing and commercial teams, supplying renders, visuals, and technical insights.
- Take ownership of project timelines, risk management, and delivery milestones.
- Degree in Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Proven experience bringing products from concept through to production.
- Strong 3D CAD capability, ideally with SolidWorks or similar software.
- Experience designing products that combine mechanical and electronic components.
- Solid knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
- Practical, hands-on experience with prototyping, model making, and product testing.
- Ability to manage your own workload, priorities, and project deadlines.
- Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
- Background working with low-voltage electronics or regulated product environments.
- Familiarity with FEA, rendering, and visualisation tools.
- Experience producing marketing-ready visuals, renders, or animations.
- Understanding of global supply chains and outsourced manufacturing models.
- Highly organised with a structured approach to workload management.
