I’m currently recruiting for a Structural Engineer to join a Buildings & Places team working across a wide range of building structures projects. This is a strong opportunity for a developing structural engineer who is working towards Chartered status and wants to broaden their experience across design, delivery and multidisciplinary project work.
The Role
You will be involved in the design and delivery of building structures projects from concept through to detailed design. The role sits within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and offers exposure to both technical design and project delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Structural design and analysis across a range of building projects
- Supporting projects through all stages of design development
- Producing calculations, reports and technical design solutions
- Working closely with multidisciplinary design teams
- Attending site visits and design coordination meetings
- Working in line with BIM standards and project quality procedures
- Supporting junior engineers where appropriate
- Contributing to innovative and sustainable design approaches
You will ideally have:
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Graduate membership of IStructE or ICE
- Experience designing steel, concrete, timber and masonry structures to Eurocodes
- Exposure to building structures projects
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive approach to learning and development
- Working towards Chartered status
- Knowledge of software such as Robot and Revit is beneficial
