We are looking for a highly organized and logistics-savvy Magazine Distribution Manager to oversee the international distribution of our print publications. This role is critical in ensuring timely and efficient delivery of our magazine to global markets across retail outlets, luxury venues, VIP networks, events, and subscribers. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in international distribution and logistics, ideally within the publishing or media industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Distribution & Logistics Management
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of international distribution, including print orders, warehouse management, freight forwarding, customs clearance, and final-mile delivery.
- Liaise with printers, fulfillment houses, shipping companies, and distributors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery to all international markets.
- Oversee bulk deliveries to key strategic locations (e.g., airports, luxury hotels, events, private clubs, lounges).
- Retail & Channel Management
- Manage relationships with international newsstand distributors, wholesalers, and retail networks.
- Negotiate and secure optimal positioning in high-traffic outlets and premium distribution points.
- Analyze sales performance by region and adjust distribution strategy to maximize visibility and efficiency.
- Strategic Distribution Planning
- Develop and implement a global distribution strategy aligned with the magazine’s positioning and audience segmentation.
- Expand presence in targeted regions and high-value verticals (luxury, finance, travel, lifestyle).
- Identify new opportunities for high-impact, selective distribution through brand partnerships, corporate placements, and private networks.
- Data, Reporting & Compliance
- Track distribution metrics, returns, and costs; optimize allocation and stock levels across channels.
- Ensure compliance with international regulations, including import/export laws and customs requirements.
- Report regularly on performance, issues, and opportunities to senior management.
- Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with editorial, marketing, and sales teams to align distribution plans with publication calendar, campaigns, and special issues.
- Support advertising and events teams by facilitating tailored distribution for client activations and partnerships.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in international logistics or media distribution, ideally within publishing or luxury industries.
- Strong understanding of international freight, customs, warehousing, and retail networks.
- Proven ability to manage multiple vendors and partners across regions and time zones.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and budget discipline.
