Location: Sheffield or Manchester. We are looking for an experienced e-Commerce Consultant to join our EMEA eCommerce team. In this role, you will enhance our clients’ digital experience by transitioning them from manual, offline processes to Insight’s online portal Insight.com. You will work closely with Sales, Operations, and our Digital teams to understand client business processes, design digital solutions, and drive adoption of our online and eProcurement capabilities. If you have a background in sales operations, procurement, business process changes, or similar client‑facing roles – and you enjoy influencing stakeholders to adopt better digital ways of working – we would be keen to hear from you. This role is a hybrid position; you will be expected to come into the office three times a week as part of your responsibilities.
Key responsibilities
- Increase the proportion of client orders placed via Insight’s digital channels by driving adoption of Insight.com and related eCommerce solutions.
- Work with Sales Account Managers to review their accountancy, identify opportunities and build a pipeline of clients to go onboard to Insight.com.
- Lead and support client‑facing meetings, including online demos and workshops, to understand existing processes and demonstrate how Insight’s digital tools can add value.
- Define and configure client‑specific requirements on Insight.com, such as catalogues, user logins, approval workflows, and other custom settings.
- Provide local expertise and training for Account Managers and new starters on Insight.com, supporting them in a confident position and using Insight’s web services with their clients.
- Analyse accounts that are not transacting online, develop strategies to migrate them to digital channels and execute agreed plans in partnership with Sales.
- Troubleshoot client and internal queries (from simple to complex), coordinating with relevant teams to ensure timely and effective resolutions.
- Function as the “eyes and ears” of the eCommerce team, gathering client feedback, identifying bugs, and highlighting potential enhancements to Insight’s web services.
- Collaborate with eCommerce Product Owners and other stakeholders to assess priorities and implement new client requirements or improvements.
- Lead or contribute to eCommerce projects, acting as a subject matter expert to ensure a smooth transition and high levels of client satisfaction.
- Support teammates by sharing knowledge, best practice, and guidance to continually improve the service we provide to clients and internal stakeholders.
Key skills and experience required
- Experience in a relevant role such as sales operations, procurement, business process/change, client success, or eCommerce consulting in a B2B environment.
- Proven experience in a client‑facing or stakeholder management role, with the ability to build credibility, influence and drive behavioural change.
- Demonstrable experience of working in a Sales, customer service, or client support environment.
- Strong understanding of business processes related to ordering, procurement, and/or digital transformation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable leading client demos, workshops, and training sessions.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into practical actions.
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver to agreed timelines with minimal supervision.
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint); experience with tools such as Power BI is an advantage.
- Experience working with eProcurement platforms (e.g., SAP, Ariba, Coupa) is beneficial but not essential.
