ADVISORY PLATFORM ARCHITECT

RELOCATION TO ABU DHABI, UAE

Position Summary

We are seeking an Advisory Platform Architect within the MEA region, you will be a trusted advisor and technical authority, designing, deploying, and optimising advanced virtualisation platforms and Kubernetes-based solutions for our customers. Our team’s strength stems from a multi-disciplinary approach, leveraging in-depth technology expertise and cross-functional knowledge to provide comprehensive support.

You will be instrumental in guiding our prestigious customers through their platform modernisation journey - assessing their current environments, aligning solutions to their strategic objectives, and driving successful deployments of virtualisation and container ecosystems.

Primary Duties / Responsibilities

  • Design and architect scalable virtualisation and container platform solutions (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
  • Collaborate with customers to gather requirements and align solutions with business goals.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on strategy, migration, and industry best practices across cloud, DevOps, and microservices.
  • Support pre-sales efforts by delivering presentations, demos and proof-of-concept workshops.
  • Develop architecture blueprints, proposals, and bills of materials tailored to customer objectives.
  • Oversee implementation efforts, providing expert guidance and troubleshooting complex infrastructure challenges.
  • Foster relationships with OEMs, partners, and customer stakeholders to ensure solution alignment and awareness of product developments.
  • Stay current on market trends and contribute insights to WWT’s strategic direction and offerings.
  • Mentor junior engineers, promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to scalable pre-sale assets and support resource planning to enhance delivery efficiency.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Significant experience in architecting and implementing virtualisation and container solutions at an enterprise scale.
  • Deep knowledge of VMware vSphere/ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, or similar hypervisors; experience in design, migration, and optimisation.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift, container networking, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps methodologies.
  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to mentor teams, coordinate complex projects, ad drive them to successful completion.
  • Fluent in English is mandatory; fluency in Arabic is preferred.
