Our client, a rapidly growing international organisation undergoing significant transformation, is seeking a PMO Lead to support the development and governance of a newly established consultancy function. This is an exciting opportunity to join at an early stage, shape ways of working, and build the frameworks that will underpin future global expansion. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in evolving environments, and brings strong PMO capability with an understanding of consultancy delivery models.
The consultancy arm of the business is expanding into multiple regions, with early success in areas such as digital, data and AI. As this growth accelerates, our client needs someone who can:
- Build and refine delivery frameworks
- Create and standardise project templates
- Support delivery leads with governance, stage gates and quality assurance
- Ensure consistency across all engagements and geographies
This is not a client-facing role and does not involve project delivery. Instead, you’ll be the engine room behind the scenes — the person who ensures every project is set up for success. Initially, around 30% of your time will be focused on the consultancy function, with the expectation that this could grow to 100% as the business scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project governance frameworks, lifecycle models and delivery standards
- Build and refine templates, documentation and toolkits for delivery teams
- Support delivery leads with stage gate reviews, change control and project readiness
- Ensure consistent quality and replicability across all consultancy projects
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure timelines, risks and expectations are managed
- Provide central PMO support across multiple workstreams
- Help embed best practice and operational discipline in a fast‑growing environment
What We’re Looking For
- Strong PMO experience (PMO Analyst, PMO Lead or similar)
- Experience working within a consultancy environment is highly desirable
- Understanding of consultancy terminology, delivery models and portfolio management
- Ability to work across multiple teams and adapt to evolving priorities
- Someone comfortable being a “Swiss army knife” — hands‑on, flexible and proactive
- Any business analysis experience is a bonus, but not essential
Why This Role Stands Out
- Join at a formative stage and directly influence how the consultancy operates
- Work closely with senior stakeholders while still having autonomy
- Opportunity to grow your remit as the consultancy expands internationally
- A genuinely varied role with scope to shape processes, governance and delivery standards
