Data Protection Specialist / Up to £300 per day (Umbrella rate) / London / Hybrid / Contract – 6 months

Overview

A large non-for-profit organisation are currently seeking a Data Protection Specialist to join their team to in to ensure the company are complying to the Data Protection Act.

This will include processing data subject access request and redactions.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience for a globally recognised organisation and grow your data protection experience

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support data protection compliance across the organisation in line with UK GDPR and Data Protection Act requirements
  • Maintain and update data protection policies, procedures, and governance documentation
  • Review projects and activities to identify and manage data protection risks
  • Assist with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs).
  • Keep Records of Processing Activities (ROPA) accurate and up to date.
  • Process data subject access request and redactions (DSARs)
  • Coordinate data protection audits and support the management of data breach incidents.
  • Deliver awareness campaigns and training to promote good data protection practices.
  • Respond to data subject requests and support enquiries relating to privacy rights and data protection

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience working in a similar Data protection position
  • CIPP/E OR IAPP qualified or similar
  • Experience using One Trust or similar system
  • Experience processing DSARs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • An excellent communicator
  • Hard-working and ambitious
