I'm currently working with a leading London Market insurer that is looking to strengthen its Exposure Management team with the appointment of both an Exposure Management Analyst and a Senior Exposure Management Analyst. These opportunities would suit individuals with catastrophe modelling experience who are looking to develop their careers within a highly analytical environment, working closely with underwriting teams to provide critical insight into portfolio risk and capital management. The business is open to candidates at different levels, with the senior position offering additional responsibility around mentoring junior team members, stakeholder management and leading more complex portfolio analysis.
The Role
You’ll join a well-established Exposure Management function responsible for analysing and monitoring natural catastrophe exposures across a diverse property portfolio. Working closely with underwriting, actuarial and reinsurance teams, you’ll help deliver high-quality analytics that support underwriting decisions, regulatory requirements and portfolio optimisation strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and monitor property catastrophe exposures across global portfolios.
- Produce portfolio roll-ups and exposure reporting.
- Work closely with underwriters to assess catastrophe model outputs and risk assumptions.
- Support internal and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Assist with catastrophe event response activities and loss estimation exercises.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of exposure management processes and analytics.
- Support reinsurance data submissions and portfolio analysis.
- Build strong relationships across underwriting, actuarial and risk functions.
Senior Level Responsibilities
In addition to the above, the Senior Exposure Management Analyst will:
- Act as a key point of contact for Property Underwriters.
- Lead complex analytical projects and exposure reviews.
- Coach and mentor junior analysts.
- Support the ongoing development of team processes and best practice.
- Play a significant role in communicating exposure insights across the business.
About You
Exposure Management Analyst (£40,000 - £60,000)
You’ll ideally have:
- Around 2+ years’ experience within catastrophe modelling or exposure management.
- Experience working with property classes of business.
- Knowledge of RMS (essential) and AIR (advantageous).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using Python, SQL or similar analytical tools.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders across the business.
Senior Exposure Management Analyst (£80,000 - £90,000)
You’ll ideally have:
- 4+ years’ experience within catastrophe modelling or exposure management.
- Advanced understanding of catastrophe models and portfolio analytics.
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working directly with underwriters.
- Knowledge of reinsurance structures and catastrophe exposure reporting.
- The ability to drive analytical improvements and influence decision-making.
