An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business. This role is ideal for someone with a strong eye for detail and previous inspection experience within a mechanical or manufacturing environment.

You will play a key role in ensuring incoming materials and components meet required engineering specifications and quality standards, while supporting wider quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect incoming materials and components against engineering drawings and specifications
  • Carry out dimensional, visual, and functional inspections using measuring equipment and test apparatus
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and material specifications
  • Accurately record inspection results and maintain documentation for traceability
  • Identify non-conforming materials and raise Supplier Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
  • Capture supporting evidence including photographs, measurements, and test data
  • Liaise with suppliers, procurement, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues
  • Support quality management systems and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure correct handling, storage, and identification of inspected materials
Requirements
  • Previous experience within a Quality Control or Inspection role
  • Background within manufacturing, engineering, or mechanical environments
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Experience using inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001 is advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Good communication and organisational skills
