An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business. This role is ideal for someone with a strong eye for detail and previous inspection experience within a mechanical or manufacturing environment.
You will play a key role in ensuring incoming materials and components meet required engineering specifications and quality standards, while supporting wider quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect incoming materials and components against engineering drawings and specifications
- Carry out dimensional, visual, and functional inspections using measuring equipment and test apparatus
- Read and interpret technical drawings and material specifications
- Accurately record inspection results and maintain documentation for traceability
- Identify non-conforming materials and raise Supplier Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
- Capture supporting evidence including photographs, measurements, and test data
- Liaise with suppliers, procurement, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues
- Support quality management systems and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure correct handling, storage, and identification of inspected materials
- Previous experience within a Quality Control or Inspection role
- Background within manufacturing, engineering, or mechanical environments
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Experience using inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001 is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Good communication and organisational skills
