An excellent interim opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal Planning Policy Officer to play a key role in shaping the future development of a major UK city. You will take a leading role in the Local Plan examination process, contributing to the delivery of a long-term development strategy and representing the authority at hearings.
Key Responsibilities- Lead on key aspects of Local Plan preparation, review, and examination
- Represent the authority at examination hearings and planning forums
- Produce evidence, written representations, and policy documentation
- Undertake research and analysis to inform planning policy
- Respond to planning legislation, consultations, and policy changes
- Work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders
- Support and mentor junior planning staff
You will be an experienced planning professional with strong policy expertise and the ability to operate at a senior level.
Essential:- Degree in Town Planning or equivalent
- MRTPI qualified
