You’ll work closely with commercial, technical, operational and subject matter experts to bring everything together into a clear, compelling and commercially robust proposal.

The Role

You will take ownership of assigned bids, ensuring customer requirements are understood, deadlines are met and the final proposal is accurate, competitive and commercially sound. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the end-to-end bid and tender process from initial requirements through to submission.
  • Working directly with customers to understand their requirements and decision-making criteria.
  • Coordinating input from technical, operational, commercial and subject matter experts.
  • Developing bid plans, managing timelines and ensuring key milestones are achieved.
  • Working with commercial teams to develop accurate pricing and costings.
  • Bringing together complex technical and commercial information into clear, customer-friendly proposals.
  • Reviewing proposals for accuracy, quality, commercial risk and compliance.
  • Managing internal approvals before proposals are submitted.
  • Responding to customer questions and providing updates throughout the bid process.
  • Identifying financial, legal, operational and delivery risks and ensuring these are appropriately managed.
  • Maintaining accurate bid and opportunity information within CRM systems.
  • Supporting continuous improvement across the bid and proposal process.

About You

We’re looking for someone with proven experience in bid management, tendering, proposals or commercial management. You’ll ideally have:

  • Experience managing bids/tenders within a commercial environment.
  • Strong experience producing complex customer-facing proposals.
  • An understanding of pricing, contracts and commercial considerations.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to take complex information and turn it into clear, concise messaging.
  • Strong organisation and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Confidence working with customers and senior internal stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
  • The ability to challenge, influence and bring people together to deliver a high-quality submission.

Experience working with public sector customers would be advantageous, as would experience within areas such as ICT, facilities management, estates, logistics, construction or professional services.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative commercial environment where you'll have genuine ownership of the bid process and work across multiple areas of the organisation. You’ll be joining a role where your ability to coordinate people, understand customer requirements and produce commercially strong proposals will have a direct impact on securing new business and maintaining existing relationships. If you’re an experienced Bid Manager looking for a role where you can take real ownership of the full bid lifecycle, we’d love to hear from you.
