We are supporting a large, internationally operating organisation with the appointment of an experienced Legal Counsel to join its commercial legal team on a maternity cover basis. This is a high-impact role supporting complex, cross-border commercial activity in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior legal stakeholders and business leaders, providing both strategic and hands-on legal support across commercial contracting, regulatory compliance, ethics, and dispute resolution.
Key Responsibilities- Provide end-to-end legal support on complex commercial arrangements, including cross-border and public sector contracts
- Structure, draft and negotiate a broad range of customer, supplier and partner agreements
- Support procurement and tender processes, including advising on public procurement legislation
- Contribute to the development of scalable, standardised contracting frameworks, templates and playbooks
- Support the launch of new products, services and strategic partnerships by providing proactive legal advice
- Assist with go-to-market strategies, risk assessments and deal optimisation
- Support ethics and compliance activity across areas such as anti-corruption, AML, competition, trade, data protection and national security
- Assist with internal investigations, remediation and reporting
- Support the management and resolution of disputes, claims and litigation matters
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales
- Minimum 5 years' PQE (law firm and/or in-house)
- Strong experience advising on a wide range of commercial agreements
- Experience within technology, professional services, consulting or B2B environment
- Exposure to IP, data protection, TUPE, XaaS and IR35
- 9-month maternity contract - March 2026 - January 2027
- Day rate - Β£750 - Β£800 per day umbrella
- London, Hybrid
- Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours PW
