As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a key role in driving accountability, cost control, and informed decision-making. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, ensuring robust financial governance, accurate reporting, and effective performance management of both direct and indirect costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial challenge, assurance, and governance across supported directorates
- Act as the CFO’s representative in monthly review meetings
- Review and endorse Change and Investment Papers, ensuring risks, opportunities, and programme impacts are fully understood
- Provide guidance on IFRS accounting treatment and support NAO audit requirements
- Oversee month-end close, year-end preparation, and financial reporting
- Deliver variance analysis, contract spend analytics, and programme board pack assurance
- Review forecasts against Spending Review funding and recommend corrective actions
Required Skills & Experience
- Fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Experience operating in a complex environment, ideally within major projects or infrastructure
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
- Proven ability to challenge forecasts, assess value for money, and ensure financial control
- Knowledge of Government accounting (DEL/AME) and Managing Public Money
- Skilled in ERP systems, data analytics tools, and advanced Excel
Package
- Day rate: £525–£540 per day (Umbrella)
- Contract length: Initial 6-month assignment
- Location: London
- Working pattern: 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm
