About the Role

Rare opportunity to join a founder-led specialty MGA in the early days of their inception and help build the finance function from the ground up. This is not a typical post-qualification role. You’ll report directly to the Finance Director, gaining exposure across financial reporting, treasury, accounts payable, FP&A, and strategic business partnering. Suited to newly qualified ACAs (up to 2 years post-qualified) from an accountancy practice with insurance industry experience. This role offers accelerated development and genuine influence in a high-growth business targeting fast growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and support statutory reporting
  • Own accounts payable operations, expense management, and supplier relationships
  • Monitor cash positions across multi-currency accounts and manage treasury infrastructure
  • Produce aged debtor reporting and support credit control processes
  • Assist with annual budgeting, variance analysis, and KPI dashboards for underwriting profitability
  • Support underwriting teams with financial analysis and delegated authority reporting
  • Help implement and optimise the finance technology stack, with focus on automation and scalability
  • Contribute to development of finance processes and controls as the business scales

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA) newly qualified or up to 2 years post-qualified
  • Insurance client experience is essential
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort with financial data
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational skills managing multiple workstreams
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, evolving environments with willingness to ask questions early
  • Effective communicator able to translate financial data into commercial insights
