Following the acquisition of 2 businesses, a leading disruptive EdTech business is pivoting their products and building a brand-new suite of applications built using the latest Microsoft stack and deployed using modern best practices to Azure Cloud Services. Typical applications are web-based, SPA, single sign on, mobile first applications with various API integrations into numerous back-end and 3rd party applications.
With plans to acquire further businesses and develop further applications and products, we require a Lead Azure Architect to implement and be the authority on Architecture for their growing C# .Net engineering function.
Working closely with the engineering teams, the Lead Azure Architect will understand business drivers and product requirements to develop high quality POC’s. In turn, these will be used to validate hypotheses and help guide the C# .Net engineering teams on the design and development of the products.
As the authority on Architecture, the Lead Azure Architect will own the implementation of technical standards and the big picture architecture, work with teams on solution designs and help ensure there is consistency and cohesion across the various engineering teams.
Reporting directly to the CTO, the Lead Azure Architect will also help to make technical decisions and define the long term vision of architecture and technology – which will be very fluid and dynamic as further acquisitions are made and additional disruptive products are created.
Requirements:
- A background in Engineering with good exposure to the Microsoft stack (C# .Net).
- Proven experience of owning and maturing/implementing solutions architecture best practices.
- Experience of creating high quality POC’s.
- Proven ability to influence teams and peers to ensure they buy into and contribute to the new approaches you are introducing.
What you will get in return:
This is about as greenfield as it gets; you will have autonomy to implement the architectural blueprints at a time where investment and growth will be sustained over the foreseeable future as newly created, disruptive products are being developed and delivered to what is essentially a huge gap in the Education industry – Very Exciting!
Lastly, you must be comfortable working remotely for 3 days per week with travel to the Doncaster and Nottingham offices once or twice a week.
