Insight Investment is looking for a Technology Risk Analyst to join the team in London. In this role, the Technology Risk Analyst will help the Head of Technology Governance, Risk and Resilience in identifying, assessing, and managing risks within Insight Investment’s Technology division. You will be involved in first-line risk responsibilities and work with a wide variety of stakeholders to ensure the robustness and continued improvement of our control environment.
Role Responsibilities
- Working with Application Managers, Security, and Risk staff to conduct thorough risk assessments and identify Technology Risk and report to relevant governance groups
- Chairing the Technology Risk management group meeting where technology assess risks for severity and assist engineering teams in determining relative prioritisation when measured to other risk remediation efforts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse and interpret data regarding security controls, assessing their effectiveness in mitigating identified risks
- Provide guidance and support to technology teams on risk-related issues aligned to the Risk function and Policy, promoting a culture of risk awareness and compliance across the organisation
- Responsible for helping to develop and maintain sophisticated risk metrics and key risk indicators, using analytics to provide insights, milestones, explanation, and remediation plans to relevant governance groups and senior management
- Oversee and report on the resolution of system vulnerabilities, providing trend analysis and explanations where SLAs have been breached
- Ownership of the Technology Risk Dashboard, working in conjunction with the Central Technology Risk function and participating in the presentation to the line of business Risk Committee
- Manage the Policy Exceptions and Control Issues. The individual needs to have a thorough technical and business understanding of why the exception is necessary and if appropriate what the remediation steps are with accompanying timeframe, before exceptions are entered/approved. All exceptions/control issues should be highlighted and agreed with the Central Technology Risk function
- Oversight of Level 1 Technology Risk Policies
Experience Required
- Experience in technology risk management or a related field within the financial industry, coming from a technical background (either infrastructure or software development) would also be beneficial
- Proven expertise in conducting risk assessments, capable of identifying, analysing, and escalating potential risks with complex technology, when measured against Internal policies, considering any offsetting measures & controls
- Some understanding of relevant regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, DORA, PCI-DSS, SOX) and their impact on technology environments both now and expected
- Hands-on experience with cloud technologies and familiarity with enterprise-level infrastructure and security protocols is beneficial
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for diverse stakeholders
