Insight Investment is looking for a Principal QA Engineer to join the OTC Order Management team in Manchester. The role combines hands‐on testing for the Product team, ensuring the delivery of high quality, performant products, alongside responsibility for setting and leading the technical direction for QA practices across the department. You will work closely with the business and be involved in all aspects of the secure systems development life cycle (S‐SDLC) across different business areas within Insight.Role ResponsibilitiesProvide technical advice to other QA Engineers and take the lead in designing new technical standardsBe responsible for and define learning needs across the function. Understands capabilities required in the medium and long term and implement steps to achieve thisTake ownership for driving change and innovation, bring relevant teams together and lead continuous improvement within the practiceOwn and implement test automation strategy to reduce manual testing and improve test coverageDirect QA strategy based on functional and non‐functional requirementsEvaluate and integrate new testing technologies and methodologiesPresent information concisely to senior individuals within and outside of the Technology functionBe a spokesperson for our technology brand and engineering practices, both internally to evangelise and energise our teams and externally to attract and compete for talentMentor the wider team to support the Team Lead and help optimise team performanceParticipate in and, where appropriate, lead meetings with business stakeholdersWrite clear and concise tests, recognising the need to address technical debtEvolve as a subject matter expert with product behaviour and domain understandingBe involved in all aspects of the software development lifecycle across different business areas within Insight.
