Business Unit:

Technology provides the tools and services to enable our Investment teams to deliver innovative, high quality, secure, cost effective and scalable solutions and services to our clients. Most of the applications are built in-house allowing adaption quickly to business needs and to differentiate our capabilities in the industry. The team provision technology services including cloud, on-premises data centres, networks, databases and desktops required for the business to function on a day-to-day basis in terms of performance and reliability, with key issues and risks all evidenced by measurable performance and risk indicators. The user-facing services include IT Helpdesk and desktop (end user computing) services and business application support.


Role Overview:
Our Business Analyst Technology Programme is a two-year rotational programme and is a unique opportunity for a graduate looking to begin their career in the investment management industry and has been designed for you to enter one of our Technology teams upon completion.
We will structure your rotations within the division to give you the opportunity to experience and understand our business so you will:

  • Be more effective when you enter a permanent role on completion of the programme
  • Build networks and relationships across the organisation
  • Gain technical understanding and working knowledge across our business
  • Take professional qualifications to support and complement business knowledge
  • Establish the foundations in becoming Insight’s future leaders

Join our dynamic technology team at the forefront of engineering cutting-edge systems designed to meet the unique needs of our business. Our business stakeholders include Heads of Departments, Fund managers, Traders, and Quantitative Analysts.

You’ll be instrumental in developing software solutions that enhance decision-making, reduce operational risks, and optimize efficiency for our front office. Collaborating closely with both our front office and cross-functional teams, you\’ll play a pivotal role in understanding user requirements, architecting solutions and implementing features to meet their evolving needs. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a collaborative, innovative environment where your contributions make a real impact.

As part of the Graduate programme, you will be sponsored to undertake the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) qualification. In addition, we will support pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) through learning materials, fee reimbursement, and study days for those that wish to pursue.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2.1. (or equivalent) Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent at an accredited university
  • Individuals that can work to hard deadlines in dynamic and fast-moving environments
  • Individuals who are energised by working with other people
  • Proven record of working collaboratively
  • Proven record of taking the initiative to act, self-starter
  • Individuals with a sense of personal responsibility and the drive to own problems, can work self-directed and independently to accomplish results.
  • Outstanding communication skills, ability to articulate ideas clearly
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Curiosity about economics, finance or investment finance
  • Has extensive experience of using MS Office – including Excel to an intermediate level
  • Ability to operate in a changing environment and challenge the status quo, innovative
  • Inquisitive, strong desire to learn and grow professionally
