Insight Investment are looking for an Infrastructure Security Project Manager to join our Technology department, working closely to support our growing Cyber Security department. Project Managers are part of a larger pool of resource within the Programme & Product Consultancy team who look after both business & technology driven initiatives across the technology domain. This role will primarily work with the Cyber Security and Platform Management teams as part of a wider Technology department which is preparing Insight technologists for the transition to new paradigms: a modern organisational design, an operational model centred on Agile, cloud technologies and an entrepreneurial culture.
Role Responsibilities
- The Infrastructure Platform Management team is responsible for:
- Infrastructure strategy and the execution of projects to implement this strategy
- Data centre builds as well as DR and BCP provision
- Infrastructure lifecycle management including desktops, servers, network, storage, security, backups, voice & video as well as operating systems
- Projects to migrate on-premises services to cloud / SaaS solutions
- Technical elements of premises modernisation and expansion
- Primarily responsible for managing the initiation, analysis, selection and implementation of Cyber Security projects but also some infrastructure projects where capacity allows:
- Scope, plan and lead projects by directing both internal and external resources to ensure successful delivery, with initial focus on security related initiatives
- Planning and prioritisation of project and development resource to ensure overall business needs are met
- Responsible for establishing and ensuring projects comply with quality standards
- Manage, motivate and lead project team members, ensuring appropriate training and experience are provided, and ensure that they manage their teams in a consistent manner
- Provide advice to senior decision-makers on development initiatives

Experience Required
- Proven infrastructure technology project management experience, ideally relating to security focused projects but not essential
- Ability to produce the key artefacts required within a project environment
- Stays well informed about the business and strategic context. Develops ambitious plans / strategies that define best in class.
- Can successfully deliver and manage projects in both an Agile and waterfall environment
- Building effective relationships within and across the IT teams and the wider business
- Experience of working in an asset management organisation (advantageous but not required)
- PRINCE 2, Agile, Scaled Agile Framework and Managing Successful Programmes qualifications.
- Experience rolling out Security Initiatives
- Applies systematic and multifaceted approaches to complex situations, even with incomplete information, identifying dependencies and constraints.
- Creates clear, actionable plans that reconcile conflicting demands and optimize resources across teams.
- Recognises commercial, cost, and risk implications, and actively promotes business advantages through improved systems and technology.
- Develops business cases balancing technical and business factors, and manages vendor processes to secure contracts efficiently.
- Proactively anticipates needs, takes responsibility for action, and provides solutions to potential challenges.
- Identifies and champions new opportunities, promoting their value to the business.
- Effectively influences key decisions and communicates critical issues to stakeholders, employing various strategies to build support.
- Anticipates questions and counterarguments to proposals, strengthening their impact.
