Insight Global is seeking multiple Data Engineer/PowerBI Developers for one of their premier energy clients in London, UK. These engineers will be building a PowerBI capability within the client's Gas & Power Trading team and will be building 50+ PowerBI reports from live, streaming trading data. The more senior engineers will work directly with the traders and analysts in the business to provide best practice approaches to the dashboards and the mid-level engineers will provide more tactical support. These roles offer a hybrid working model with the expectation of 2-3 days/week onsite as the standard.
Must Haves:
- Data Engineering/PowerBI experience
- Strong competence with Azure Databricks, SQL, Python, PowerBI, DAX
- Proven experience leading the design of data models, transformation logic, and build of all Power BI dashboards - including testing, optimization & integration to data sources
- Good exposure to all elements of data engineering (PySpark, Lakehouses, Kafka, etc.)
- Experience building reports from streaming data
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipeline
- Financial and/or trading exposure, particularly energy commodities
Plusses:
- Experience building PowerBI reports from an ETRM system, ideally Endur
- Good understanding of maths and/or finance as roles may interact with quant devs, and analysts and traders
- Familiarity with E.g. PnL, greeks, volatility, partial derivative, normal distribution etc.
- DevOps experience with terraform + github actions
