Network Monitoring Infrastructure Engineer in Manchester

We are seeking an experienced professional to design, implement, and support enterprise-level monitoring solutions in a large, complex environment. This hands‑on role involves working with both open-source and commercial tools, providing technical leadership, and ensuring seamless integration into the enterprise ecosystem. Additionally, you will offer local leadership and mentorship to the monitoring and automation team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain efficient monitoring solutions and tools for enterprise infrastructure.
• Identify and implement improvements to existing tools, alerts, and processes.
• Collaborate across departments to deliver business objectives effectively.
• Lead technical design and integration of monitoring solutions into the enterprise environment.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to local team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience); advanced degree preferred
• 8–10 years of relevant experience; financial services industry experience is a plus
• 10+ years with enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, SolarWinds Orion, NetScout), including deployment and administration
• Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems
• 3+ years of development experience in Java or Python
• 3+ years scripting experience (Unix: Bash; Windows: PowerShell, VB)
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and development processes
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
