A leading financial data and analytics organisation is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join the Operational Tooling team, responsible for building and enhancing the strategic platform used to create, manage, monitor, and govern financial indices across the ecosystem. This role is heavily focused on delivering modern, data-driven user interfaces and scalable backend services that support operational workflows, approvals, auditing, exception management, dashboarding, and integrations across multiple services.
The position is approximately 60% front-end and 40% back-end, making it ideal for an engineer who enjoys building intuitive user experiences whilst remaining hands-on with Java backend development. React is the strategic front-end technology moving forward, whilst Angular remains an important part of the existing ecosystem and will continue to be supported and modernised. On the backend, you will build and maintain Java Spring Boot services, APIs, integrations, and cloud-hosted applications within AWS. This is also an AI-first engineering environment, where developers are encouraged to leverage AI tools responsibly to accelerate delivery whilst maintaining strong engineering judgement, accountability, security, and quality standards.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Work on the next generation of Index Management Platform, building workflow-driven applications that enable users to create, maintain, monitor, and govern financial indices.
- Develop modern front-end applications using React whilst also supporting and enhancing existing Angular applications as the platform continues its transition towards React.
- Build Java Spring Boot services, APIs, and integrations that support workflow management, approvals, auditing, notifications, and operational processes.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, UX Designers, QA Engineers, Architects, and Platform teams to deliver scalable solutions from concept through to production.
- Visualise, manage, and interact with large datasets through dashboards, grids, workflows, and reporting tools.
- Build integrations using REST and GraphQL APIs, contribute to dashboard functionality, and support applications running within AWS environments.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to support prototyping, development, testing, and documentation activities.

- Full Stack Software Development experience
- Experience developing applications with React
- Enterprise level experience maintaining or developing applications in Angular
- Enterprise level experience backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs
- Understanding of GraphQL
- Strong experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL
- Experience developing and supporting cloud-hosted applications within AWS
