Air Operations Specialist
Permanent opportunity based at Heathrow Airport. 4 on, 4 off night shift pattern from 7pm-7am.
This role focuses on managing time‑critical exports—including AOGs, engines, and licensed goods—while ensuring compliance with all customs and regulatory requirements. The position oversees end‑to‑end airfreight execution, from selecting optimal air carriers to coordinating with Transport, Warehouse, Carriers, Handling Agents, and overseas offices to guarantee timely, cost‑effective delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Booking optimal air freight solutions for global deliveries
Ensuring full customs compliance and accurate documentation
Coordinating with transport, warehouse, carriers, and overseas offices for timely shipments
Managing customer relationships and delivering against agreed SOPs
Maintaining DfT compliance and shipment milestones in Cargowise
Handling exceptions, discrepancies, and retrospective customs actions
Must‑Have Requirements
Experience within the Freight Forwarding Industry.
Experience of HMRC procedures for Export.
Ability to support a culture of continuous improvement.
Knowledge of Freight Forwarding industry: Exports and related processes.
Knowledge of Aerospace/AOG movements.
5 GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade C or above – or equivalent desirable.
Additional Requirements
Experience working with Cargo Ise Operating systems.
Proven experience working with dangerous goods.
