A Fortune 500 retail client in the Elgin, SC area is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to join their team at their food manufacturing facility. This resource will be responsible for helping control company assets, report profit and loss, and improving cash flow. Other responsibilities include:

  • Review company financial records and ensure accuracy
  • Assist in period and year-end closing financial statement preparation and review
  • Prepare weekly profit estimates based on the sales forecast and current plant and marketing activities
  • Assist in preparing period profit estimates and annual budgets for departments; analyze business activities
  • Develop necessary financial analyses, including trends, discrepancies and opportunities
  • Analyze financial statements to ensure proper reporting of period results along with explanations and information for department heads
  • Audit plant expense accounts and validate dollars spent and proof of expenditures
  • Control company's physical and liquid assets, review and approve expenditures, and install safeguards to prevent excessive spending or waste
  • Lead working capital initiative and complete year-end tax reports and annual consensus reports
  • Evaluate multiple accounting systems/interfaces and investigate related issues
  • Assist in the preparation of various cost estimates on new products or package changes and continually analyze pricing and price quotes for outside sales
  • Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements
  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems
