You will also utilize conventional machine shop equipment to cut, machine, and shape raw materials in accordance with drawing specifications, while building and modifying fixtures or holding devices to properly secure workpieces during production.

  • Inspecting precision components
  • Selecting proper tooling
  • Determining optimal feeds and speeds for various materials
  • Ensuring high-quality surface finishes
  • Monitoring multiple machines simultaneously

  • Checking tool runout
  • Managing tool wear and compensation
  • Setting tool offsets, diameter compensation, and multiple 3-axis work offsets within a program

This role requires the ability to perform machine setups with little to no instruction, as well as edit CNC programs both at the controller and offline using text-based files. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while consistently producing high-quality parts.

This role is minimum on site 4 days a week in Portsmouth VA. Work schedule is 4 x 10 hours days with option overtime on Fridays when workload allows. Compensation: $27/hr-$37/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
