Insight Global is seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Systems Engineer to join our client's growing team during a transitional phase of modernizing their infrastructure on a 6 month contract-to-hire. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in Azure Virtual Desktop environments, laptop deployment via Autopilot, and improving internal IT workflows—especially through Slack integration and automation. You'll act as a key escalation point for critical IT incidents and help shape how our support model evolves.
Support Request Optimization
- Design and implement a Slack-based help desk system using integrations such as Jira Service Management, Zendesk, or Freshdesk.
- Streamline ticket triage processes and implement workflow automations and Slack bots for efficient request handling.
Device Lifecycle Management
- Lead deployment of Windows laptops via Microsoft Autopilot and Intune.
- Troubleshoot and improve Autopilot profiles, user enrolment issues, and security baselines.
Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Oversight
- Manage AVD infrastructure, including host pool maintenance, session host performance, and user provisioning.
- Monitor environment health using Azure Monitor and implement autoscaling strategies.
Security & Compliance
- Administer and enhance security policies in Azure AD and Microsoft Intune.
- Configure Conditional Access, device compliance, and role-based access controls.
Escalation Point
- Act as an escalation point for Level 1 and Level 2 support, resolving high-impact issues related to Azure and device management.
- Collaborate with other IT teams and vendors as needed to resolve incidents and implement improvements.
Must Haves:
- Proven experience managing Azure Virtual Desktops and Azure AD environments.
- Strong experience with Zscaler.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Autopilot, Intune, and device deployment workflows.
- Familiarity with Slack-based IT support workflows and help desk integrations.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a process-driven mindset.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
