What You'll Be Doing as a Senior Housing Officer

As a Senior Housing Officer, you'll take full ownership of your housing patch, managing tenancies from let to re-let while delivering a highly visible and responsive service. You'll be empowered to make decisions, work autonomously, and collaborate with a wide range of partners to achieve positive outcomes for residents and communities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing tenancies from sign-up through to tenancy termination
  • Supporting residents to sustain their tenancies and maximise their income
  • Reducing rent arrears through early intervention and tailored support
  • Carrying out tenancy audits, property inspections, and estate inspections
  • Managing anti-social behaviour (ASB) and complex tenancy issues
  • Working with vulnerable residents and connecting them to support services
  • Leading estate walkabouts and community engagement activities
  • Supporting residents with digital inclusion and self-service tools
  • Acting as the key contact for councillors, resident groups, contractors, and partner agencies
  • Ensuring homes are let quickly and efficiently to minimise void loss
  • Representing the organisation professionally at meetings, hearings, and, where required, court proceedings

Requirements of a Senior Housing Officer

Essential Requirements

  • Level 3 CIH qualification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience working in a Senior Housing Officer post or similar
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Teams
  • Can commute around Wembley area
