Salary: £85,000 + £7,200 car allowance

We’re supporting a global, technology-led facilities management service provider to appoint an Account Director for a high-profile large public sector local authority account in Surrey. This is a senior leadership role with full operational and commercial accountability, leading multi-disciplinary teams and a complex supply chain across a Total Facilities Management (TFM) environment. You’ll take ownership of performance, culture, continuous improvement, and client relationships ensuring safe, consistent, and exceptional service delivery at scale.

The role:

  • Service delivery leadership: Lead internal teams and subcontract partners to deliver safe, consistent, high-quality TFM services.
  • QSHEW & best practice: Implement best-practice processes in line with company policy and client standards across quality, H&S, environmental and technical compliance.
  • Supply chain performance: Drive supplier governance, performance measurement, and continual improvement.
  • Financial & commercial accountability: Own budget delivery, financial reporting, risk management, and profitability against agreed targets.
  • Client & stakeholder management: Act as senior point of contact, managing relationships at all levels and ensuring excellent contract interfaces.
  • Performance reporting: Produce monthly client performance reporting and provide clear updates across people, client, and financial metrics.
  • Continuous improvement: Drive savings, innovation, sustainability and social value outcomes in a highly accountable environment.
  • Emergency escalation: Lead in emergency situations and ensure appropriate escalation and communication.
  • People leadership: Line manage, mentor, coach and develop senior teams, building a high-performing, customer-focused culture.
  • Capital projects oversight: Ensure delivery and reporting across stakeholders meets and exceeds expectations.

About you:

We’re looking for a confident, credible operator with strong commercial instincts and public sector stakeholder maturity. You’ll ideally bring:

  • Significant leadership experience within an FM service provider environment, operating at Account Director / senior contract level.
  • Proven experience on Local Authority contracts (essential) within a TFM / multi-service-line delivery model.
  • Track record of leading a large, quality-led P&L contract with a substantial budget.
  • Excellent relationship management skills, able to influence senior stakeholders and lead teams through complexity.
  • Strong governance mindset across compliance, reporting, and risk management.
  • An FM qualification (desirable) and Health & Safety qualification (preferred).
