Insight Employment are recruiting a Stores Operative with Forklift Licences for a client of ours in Milton Keynes.
The Role:
- To ensure products manufactured are produced in accordance with high food safety standards, and compliance with legal, commercial and moral obligations. The role is responsible for enforcing their standards to maintain their customers trust and protect the client’s brand and customers brand integrity.
Key Accountabilities:
- Unloading lorries, check all raw material ingredients and packaging is received in a good condition.
- Safely unpacking, storing and issuing of raw materials at the right temperature and in line with stock rotation procedures.
- Temperature Control checks of Stores area.
- Ensuring materials are ready for production in a timely manner.
- Accurate, on time delivery & system transactions of material to end user or location.
- Accurate completion of process-controlled documentation.
- Collecting, moving and stacking product with MHEs.
- Acting on non-compliance of specification i.e. BBD, Temperatures, damage and ensure all non-conforming materials are either rejected/reported or quarantined/duly labelled and reported accordingly with support of Quality Dept.
- Correct use of the AX ERP system to reflect movement of materials and ensure integrity and traceability of the material transacted and maintenance of accurate stock control.
- Work in accordance with company quality and health and safety standards, procedures and processes and compliance with the requirements of GMP.
- Assisting with stock takes as and when required.
- To adhere to and abide by all relevant Health and Safety policies and procedures including use of PPE and ensure that hazards are reported and ideas for the improvement of Stores safety are raised with the Senior Management and/or the Health and Safety representative.
- Compliance with ‘clean as you go’.
- To ensure waste is separated and disposed of correctly and report any poor observations to the relevant Manager.
- Be actively involved in and to promote an environment of continuous improvement, flexibility and teamwork.
- Work cross functionally when required.
- To be available for training as and when required.
Key Performance Measures/Indicators:
- Accurate stock takes.
- Auditable record keeping.
- Zero non-conformances (internal or external).
- Zero accidents/incidents.
- Timely reporting of goods that do not meet specification.
Knowledge:
- Fully conversant with goods in process and able to take necessary action to reconcile delivery inaccuracies.
- Awareness of hazards resulting in spills and leakages of product ensuring such spills and leakages are dealt with immediately or reported to others for action.
- Full knowledge of the logistics process within a warehousing environment is essential.
- Familiar and confident in using stock control IT programs such as AX ERP.
- Fully conversant with stock rotation procedures and competent in all aspects of the replenishment operation.
Skills:
- Fully conversant with goods in process and able to take necessary action to reconcile delivery inaccuracies.
- Awareness of hazards resulting in spills and leakages of product ensuring such spills and leakages are dealt with immediately or reported to others for action.
- Full knowledge of the logistics process within a warehousing environment is essential.
- Familiar and confident in using stock control IT programs such as AX ERP.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a busy warehouse.
- In date accredited Reach and Counterbalance licences.
- Experience in driving Reach & Counterbalance trucks.
- Knowledge of AX ERP highly advantageous.
- Previous experience in a temperature-controlled environment would be desirable.
Continental shifts and hours:
- This is rotating between days and nights and working 2 weeks of days and 2 weeks of nights.
- Day shift 06:00am-18:00pm.
- Night shift 18:00pm-06:00am.
Rate: £13.93 per hour + £3.48 per hour shift hour allowance.
