We are seeking a Settlements Analyst to join the Financial Management Department in a full-time position supporting the day-to-day accounting and settlements activity of the team. This role is well suited to an organised and detail-focused individual with solid all-round accounting experience, particularly across cash allocation, payments, ledger maintenance, bookkeeping, accounts payable, and month-end processes. The successful candidate will be comfortable working accurately at pace, managing deadlines, and maintaining a highly methodical approach in a busy finance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Post and allocate daily cash receipts, including multi-currency / FX-related receipts
- Review and prepare payments for authorisation on a daily basis
- Post journals, including month-end closing journals
- Monitor and review ledgers, identifying items requiring investigation, reconciliation, or clearance
- Support the accurate and timely completion of month-end procedures, including:
- clearing dummy accounts
- resolving parked documents
- processing prepayment transfers to costs
- reviewing cut-off items
Skills and Experience Required
Essential
- Good understanding of accounting principles, VAT, and accounts payable
- Relevant practical accounting experience in a similar finance or settlements-focused role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good working knowledge of Excel
- High level of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail
- Ability to manage workload effectively and deliver against deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships
- A reliable team player with a proactive and accountable approach
Desirable
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA, Concur, and/or DocuWare
- Experience working with multi-currency accounting systems
- Previous experience within a trading business or similar fast-paced commercial environment
