This isn’t a maintenance role. We’re looking for a Copper Trader who doesn’t wait for business to come to them — someone who opens markets, builds customer flows from scratch, and knows the cathode-to-wire-rod value chain inside out.
You’ll own origination, develop new customer relationships, and structure deals across one of the world’s most dynamic commodity corridors — Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. This is a seat with real commercial scope, full value chain exposure, and the backing of an established global trading platform.
- Drive trading and business development in copper cathode, wire rod, and base metal products across Europe and the Middle East
- Source and develop supply from Africa, building procurement channels not covered by existing operations
- Open new customer flows — end-users, traders, smelters — and strengthen the book from the ground up
- Manage the full risk picture: market, credit, logistics, legal, regulatory, and VAT
A proven copper trader with a track record in cathode and/or wire rod — you’ve grown a book, not just managed one.
- Hands-on experience with African-origin copper: sourcing, quality, logistics, last-mile delivery
- Established network across producers, traders, smelters, and end-users in Europe, Africa, and/or the Middle East
- Solid grasp of trade finance, credit risk, and international commodity execution
- Fluent in English; French is a strong plus
- Ready to travel across Europe, the Middle East, and beyond when the deal demands it
Bonus points for:
- Multi-regional trading exposure with coordination across global hubs
- Business-level French (written and spoken)
