Emissions Broker

As an Emissions Options Broker, you will be responsible for supporting the emissions trading desk in executing transactions, managing client relationships, and contributing to the growth of our emissions options book. You will work closely with senior brokers and traders, gain exposure to complex financial products, and develop deep market knowledge in the carbon emissions and environmental trading sectors.

Base pay range

£130,000 + Uncapped Bonus (over 900% earnt by 20% of the Team)

Key Responsibilities

• Trade Execution: Assist in the execution of emissions options trades in both voluntary and compliance carbon markets, including European Union Emission Trading Scheme (EU ETS) and other regional programs.
• Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze market trends, regulatory developments, and other macroeconomic factors that impact carbon and emissions markets. Use this information to provide timely and relevant insights to senior brokers and clients.
• Client Engagement: Support the relationship management process by maintaining communication with clients, answering inquiries, and helping clients understand market conditions, trade strategies, and available options.
• Trade Confirmation: Ensure all trades are accurately recorded and confirmed, liaising with internal departments such as risk management, compliance, and settlement teams to ensure smooth post-trade processing.
• Risk Management Support: Collaborate with senior brokers to manage risk and execute hedging strategies for clients, ensuring optimal positions are maintained.
• Market Research: Conduct detailed research and compile reports on market conditions, carbon pricing, regulatory updates, and the overall emissions trading environment.
• Product Knowledge: Gain expertise in a wide range of emissions products, including carbon options, futures, and related derivatives, to better advise clients on their trading strategies.
