A great opportunity has arisen to join a well-established and growing aerospace manufacturing company as a Despatch Operator.
Position summary: The role is a full-time position working within the Logistics team. The applicant must be a good team player and have excellent time management skills to enable them to manage their own workload within a high demand environment. Flexibility is essential to meet customer demands.
Responsibilities:
- Packing products in accordance with customer and company specifications.
- Ability to organise and separate paperwork to ensure product is shipped in line with customs and customers specification.
- Good mobility due to physical demands of the job.
- Be able to use computer systems, Word, Excel, and Carrier websites.
- Must be organised and able to work under pressure.
- Must be able to manage changing priorities.
- Be a team player but also able to work on own initiative.
- Good attention to detail, understand the need to check and overcheck work.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of staff, customers, suppliers, and transport carriers.
- Must be flexible and dependable and prepared to work shifts as required.
- Operators will be expected to work overtime at short notice to meet customer demand and to provide cover for Friday afternoons.
- Operators will be expected to move between departments within the same shift.
- Operators will be expected to work shifts when required (am/pm & nights).
- Any other duties as required.
Requirements:
- Education – No formal qualification required but would expect an excellent level of English & Maths.
- Industry Experience – Previous experience of the Logistics process would be advantageous.
Full time. Hours – Initially: Monday to Thursday: 7:45 am – 4:30 pm, Friday: 7:30 am – 1:00 pm; however, the role will most likely move onto a split rotating shift of earlies and lates, so having access to transport which can get you to the site for a 6 am start is critical.
This position may involve access to export controlled information and hardware where an export license would be required for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Employment will be subject to satisfactory security checks, export license approval, and if required, completion of a non-disclosure agreement.
