A well established manufacturing business in the West Midlands is looking for Skilled TIG Welder/Fabricators to join its expanding operation. Major contracts involve commercial EV charging units, as well as scanning units which are used in national and international airports. Automotive and/or aerospace welding backgrounds are desirable.
Day shift with 7am-7:30 am flexible start time. Rates advertised are PAYE (lower) and umbrella (higher) values. Overtime paid at higher rates. Temporary to permanent, long term position. Please do not apply unless you're an experienced TIG welder. TIG welders are the only candidates who will be considered based on the client's requirements. MIG and laser background advantageous on top of the TIG capabilities.
The role involves the welding of mild and stainless steel, and some aluminium, so you must have experience working with these materials. Experience in welding thin gauge material is beneficial to your application.
Job Description:
- Read and understand engineering drawings
- Adhere to technical specifications
- Self-inspection of welds following initial training
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate will be apprentice trained; time served with City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in welding.
- Previous TIG welding experience in Aluminium, Mild or Stainless Steel
- Good team member
- Ability to communicate with colleagues
- Willingness to be flexible and adaptable
- Must have worked within the aerospace or automotive sector
39 hours standard hours, with regular overtime available once self inspection quality is signed off. Overtime is paid at enhanced weekday and weekend rates. Free onsite parking. Modern and clean facility with good business culture.
This role will start on a weekly paid temporary basis, but will convert onto a permanent contract after a successful probationary period is passed.
