Business Insider is hiring a Cloud Engineer III to join our Cloud Engineering team dedicated to building and supporting scalable, secure and resilient infrastructure in AWS and other cloud providers. The Role & Team:
As a Cloud Engineer, you will contribute to the design, implementation, and optimisation of our cloud infrastructure, playing a pivotal role in the ongoing success of our tech teams, our writers and editors and the readership of the largest business news site in the world. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the effectiveness of our DevOps culture, troubleshoot application and system issues and add minimal complexity to monitor, deploy and scale our continuously growing environment. This role reports directly to the Director of Cloud Engineering and sits on the Cloud Engineering Team. This role will be based in Belfast and offers an in office or work from home / hybrid opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on the design and implementation of scalable and secure cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS.
- Managing and enhancing our global AWS services and infrastructure, adhering to security best practices.
- Working closely with cross-functional teams to foster an effective DevOps culture.
- Troubleshooting application and system issues in collaboration with feature team engineers, communicating status to the broader team.
- Implementing minimal complexity to monitor, deploy, and scale a continuously growing environment.
The Ideal Candidate Has:
- Demonstrable knowledge of building and supporting cloud applications at scale.
- A positive attitude and ability to contribute effectively to discussions.
- Professional experience with AWS and Elastic Kubernetes Service.
- A high degree of comfort in deploying cloud native applications using Terraform and Kubernetes and the ability to evaluate emerging technologies.
- Proficiency in coding in a modern programming language.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
