Use your food-sector expertise to help drive social and environmental progress. Inside Track is looking for a Strategic Partnerships Lead to build the external relationships that help insider insight create change across the food system.

About Inside Track: Inside Track is a UK non-profit building confidential movements of senior professionals inside powerful industries. It creates protected spaces where people can share insights about the cultures, structures, norms and incentives holding their industries back, helps turn that insight into action for social and environmental change, and identifies where action could make a meaningful difference. The Strategic Partnerships Lead will connect that insight with the people and institutions able to use it.

You will build and maintain long-term relationships with NGOs, academics, investors, strategic litigators, journalists, policymakers and others working to shape the future of food. You will understand what insight would be useful to them, identify opportunities for collaboration and help translate what insiders are seeing into intelligence and carefully judged action. You will also coordinate external partners around key moments when insight is released, while stewarding relationships between activations so Inside Track continues to understand what external stakeholders need.

This is a publicly facing, entrepreneurial role. It is not a conventional corporate partnerships position, and it is not for someone whose connection to the food industry is limited to general interest. It could suit someone who has worked inside a major food business, retailer or manufacturer, particularly in a role involving sustainability, public affairs, nutrition or cross-industry initiatives, or a consultant, lawyer, investor, nutrition or policy professional, or someone from a serious food-focused organisation with significant corporate engagement.

Inside Track is growing quickly. For the right person, this is an opportunity to shape a new partnerships function and help build a distinctive model for changing powerful industries.

Who this could suit:

  • The strongest candidates will bring credible knowledge of the food sector and evidence that they can build trust across commercial, policy and civil-society settings.
  • Credible understanding of major food businesses and the wider food system.
  • Ability to build, maintain and steward long-term relationships across business, government and civil society.
  • Experience of understanding what different stakeholders need and where useful collaboration is possible.
  • Strong judgement about influence, timing and sensitivity.
  • Clear and persuasive communication.
  • Creative thinking and the confidence to originate ideas.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and without a complete playbook.
  • Warmth, curiosity, resilience, high conviction and low ego.
  • A serious commitment to social and environmental progress.

What Inside Track offers:

  • A central role in a fast-growing organisation with an ambitious theory of change.
  • Substantial ownership and the opportunity to shape how the role develops.
  • Coaching and support.
  • Genuine flexibility across three to five days per week.
  • The opportunity to use serious sector knowledge on work that matters.

A note on inclusion and culture:

We are all here because we believe deeply in this work and its potential to create a better world and we hope that our culture reflects this passion for and commitment to doing the right thing. We are committed to building a team that reflects a wide range of experiences, backgrounds and perspectives and supports team members to grow. The successful candidate will receive professional coaching and support, alongside substantial ownership and genuine flexibility in their working pattern. If you are not sure whether you tick every box, but feel excited about the work, we strongly encourage you to apply. We particularly welcome candidates from backgrounds underrepresented in traditional campaigning and systems change roles, including people of colour, disabled candidates, and those from working-class or non-traditional paths.

Please note that to be considered for this post, you must be legally eligible to work in the UK. We are unfortunately unable to hire anyone that isn’t already living in the UK, nor are we able to sponsor visas.
