About the role
The Estates & Grounds Maintenance team at The Guinness Partnership is hiring an Arborist to provide a high quality, customer focused tree surgery and maintenance service in compliance with relevant procedures and legislation. This is a full time, 35 hours per week, permanent, field-based role covering Havant, Southampton, Portsmouth and surrounding areas.
What we are looking for
We are seeking a qualified and certificated Arborist who can demonstrate a high level of technical competence when working at height using harness systems, chainsaws and associated machinery. The successful candidate will have experience operating within a customer‑focused environment and meeting defined performance targets, alongside the ability to complete all required certifications, reports and documentation to a high standard. A methodical approach, strong adherence to established procedures and precise data recording are essential. The role requires effective problem‑solving skills and the ability to work safely in varying environmental conditions. Strong organisational and time‑management abilities, the capability to work with minimal supervision, and a good understanding of health and safety requirements are also key attributes for this position.
You will be able to demonstrate these essential skills:
- Qualified certificated Arborist with proven ability of working at height with harness systems, chainsaws and other associated machinery.
- Experience of working in a customer focused environment within agreed performance targets.
- Ability to correctly complete the relevant certifications, reports or other documentation.
- Proven ability to work methodically, follow agreed procedures and accurately record data and information.
- Ability to operate safely having taken into account any environmental circumstances and possible risks.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems seeking any advice required.
- Health and safety knowledge.

Essential qualifications:
- Arborist Certification of CS30 to CS34, CS36 to CS47.
Desirable qualifications:
- ABC Level 2 certificate in Arboriculture.
- Relevant qualifications associated to Grounds Maintenance.
- PA1/PA6 competence in the safe use of pesticides.
- 301 Fell and Process Trees over 380mm (F/504/0565).
