We are looking for a Litigation Executive for a newly formed business at INSHUR! We’re based in sunny Brighton, and our company embraces a hybrid working model, allowing you to thrive in both collaborative office settings and the comfort of your own home. You’ll have the opportunity to work remotely while also connecting with your colleagues at our Brighton office at least once a week, fostering a dynamic and supportive environment. Supported by (and reporting to) the Practice Manager, you'll be joining a friendly team of 6. What you’ll do
- Managing Cases with Autonomy: Handling an independent caseload from initial instruction through to resolution, primarily across personal injury, credit hire, and debt recovery matters. You’ll take ownership while working within our internal quality and risk management frameworks.
- Client‑Focused Legal Delivery: Providing clear, practical, and timely legal advice, ensuring excellent client outcomes while aligning your approach with commercial objectives.
- Drafting, Negotiation & Strategy: Drafting and reviewing pleadings, correspondence, and legal documents, and negotiating effectively to progress cases to successful outcomes.
- Dispute Resolution & Advocacy: Conducting negotiations, mediations, and attending court hearings where required, confidently representing client interests.
- Compliance & File Management: Maintaining accurate, well‑organised files and records, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
Claimant litigation focused with a genuine opportunity to develop and transition into defendant work as the business grows.
Essentials to thrive in the role:
- Experience as a Litigation Executive or similar role, managing your own caseload.
- Strong background in personal injury, with solid exposure to credit hire and/or debt recovery.
- Good working knowledge of the civil litigation process, including CPR, court procedures, and case progression across small, fast, and intermediate tracks.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain issues clearly to clients and colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills, able to juggle multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities.
- Confident legal drafting and negotiation skills.
- Commercial awareness, with an understanding of how legal decisions impact client outcomes.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in legal technology and case management software; ProClaim an advantage.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience working within an Alternative Business Structure (ABS) or familiarity with its regulatory environment.
- Experience working with insurer‑led or defendant‑focused litigation models.

- Final Interview: An in‑person interview with Head of Practice and Director of Insurance.
