We are looking for a Lead Product Manager to join us at INSHUR and own our Global Platform. We’re based in sunny Brighton ☀️ (sea 🌊, chips 🍟, and seagulls 🕊️ included), and our company embraces a hybrid working model, allowing you to thrive in both collaborative office settings and the comfort of your own home 🏠. You’ll have the opportunity to work remotely while also connecting with your colleagues at our Brighton office at least 2-4 times a month, fostering a dynamic and supportive environment. You’ll be working on re-inventing insurance in exciting markets across multiple territories including the UK 🇬🇧, US 🇺🇸, and the Netherlands 🇳🇱, with plans to expand into new European countries. Supported by (and reporting to) the Principal Product Manager, you\’ll be joining a friendly team who believe in building and evolving foundational systems that power global products, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and fit for long-term growth across all markets.

What you\’ll do

As a Lead Product Manager (Platform) you will own INSHUR’s core insurance platform with a building, evolving, innovating and compounding the foundational systems that power all products, partners, and markets across the US and EU.

  • Platform Ownership: Own the core insurance platform, encompassing Quote, Rating, Billing, and Policy services, while ensuring the system remains scalable, reliable, and compliant.
  • Strategic Roadmapping: Lead the platform roadmap with a long-term view, balancing immediate delivery needs with foundational investments that unlock speed and flexibility for the entire business.
  • Platform Expansion: Leading the expansion of INSHUR globally across new territories 🇺🇸, driving our capabilities to support new regions and ensuring compliance and standardisation of platform functionality/capability’s.
  • Driving Innovation: Identifying and developing tooling and capabilities internally for INSHUR stakeholders that drives efficiency and scalability of our business as we scale
  • Cross-Domain Orchestration: Translate complex, global requirements into clear, sequenced initiatives that provide a seamless experience across products and geographies.
  • Engineering Partnership: Partner deeply with Engineering to shape system design and APIs, enabling teams to ship with clarity and confidence.
  • Stakeholder Interface: Act as the primary link between the platform and wider business units like Finance, Risk, and Operations to manage competing priorities and reduce operational friction.

Essentials To Thrive In The Role

  • Platform Product ownership: Significant experience owning backend, platform, or infrastructure-adjacent products in high-throughput environments.
  • High-Growth Startup Experience: Proven ability to build, ship, and scale platform products in high growth, fast-changing startup environments, operating with ambiguity, limited resources, and a strong bias toward execution and ownership
  • Strong Technical Literacy: Ability to engage confidently with engineers, data, finance and insurance teams on process, architectural decisions, data models, business/technical trade-offs etc.
  • Navigating Regulated Environments: Experience delivering high-impact products within insurance, fintech, payments, or financial services.
  • Systems-Thinking Mindset: Strong judgment and the ability to anticipate second-order effects while managing platform risk.
  • High Ownership Mentality: A drive to take responsibility for long-term outcomes and build institutional continuity over time.

What To Expect From The Process

Screen & Intro: 30-minute video call with the Talent Team to discuss the role and your experience.

First Interview: 60-minute video call with the Principal Product Manager and People Partner to delve into the role, including technical questions and team fit

Case Study: A take-home circa 2 hours work followed by a 45-60 minute in-person interview with the Group Product Manager, and a Lead Engineer to review the case study and assess team fit.
