The role
As a Claims Handler at INSHUR, you’ll take ownership of a diverse portfolio of third-party motor claims, including personal injury, playing a key role in delivering fast, fair, and data-driven outcomes.
You will work in a modern, tech-enabled environment where you’re trusted to make decisions, challenge the status quo, and help shape how claims are handled from first notification through to settlement.
This role reports to the Claims Team Leader and sits within a friendly, collaborative team of claims professionals.
We're based in Brighton, with a hybrid working model. You'll come into the office at least once a week, with the rest of your time remote.
What You'll Do
- Manage end-to-end claims: Take full visibility and control of third-party motor claims from first notification through to settlement, covering both damage and personal injury elements.
- Drive confident claim resolutions: Make sound liability decisions and navigate claims to resolution using a strong commercial mindset.
- Negotiate optimal outcomes: Effectively negotiate with third parties, insurers, and legal representatives to achieve the right result at the right cost.
- Leverage a digital-first approach: Build strong relationships across the insurance market while influencing claim outcomes digitally.
- Collaborate across teams: Work closely with product, data, and operations teams to identify emerging trends and elevate overall claims performance.
- Optimise processes through tech: Use technology and data insights to streamline workflows, reduce friction, and enhance the overall customer experience.
What We're Looking For
We care more about how you think than what's on your CV.
Essential
- Motor Claims Handling Experience: Proven track record handling motor claims, including exposure to personal injury, and demonstrating strong technical claims judgement.
- Decision-Making & Negotiation: Confident decision-maker and effective negotiator comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.
- Data & Tech Orientation: Enjoys working with data and technology to innovate and challenge legacy processes.
- Solutions-Focused Ownership: Demonstrates accountability, moves quickly, and brings a problem-solving mindset to complex challenges.
- Customer & Commercial Focus: Passionate about delivering exceptional customer outcomes without losing sight of overall commercial performance.
- Nice to have
- Adaptability in Evolving Environments: Thrives when collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-changing, scaling company setting.
- Curiosity & Continuous Improvement: Intellectually curious and eager to learn, explore new ideas, and constantly improve processes.
- What To Expect From The Process
- Screen & Intro: A 30-minute video call with the Talent Team to discuss the role, your background, and your experience.
- First Interview: A 60-minute video call to dive deeper into your technical experience and get to know your motivations.
- Final Stage: An in-person interview at our Brighton office to meet the team lead and people team.
We design this to be a two-way conversation. Come with questions — we want you to leave knowing whether this is the right move for you.
