Insafe International ltd is recruiting for an experienced locksmith/safe engineer who will be based in the Peterborough area.
Locksmith/Safe Engineer
This role requires enthusiastic candidates to carry out locksmithing and safe opening tasks at our clients’ locations throughout your area (usually up to a maximum of 2 hours travel time from your home).
This will include repairs to existing equipment, including mechanical and electronic systems.
Duties will include (list is not exhaustive)
- General locksmithing, i. e., lock-fitting, cylinder changes and pinning, key cutting, code changes to coded door locks, etc.
- Safe opening & repair (dependent on ability).
- Installing electronic safe locks.
- Code changes to safe locks.
- Programming of electronic safe locks.
- Battery changes.
- Training
Since this is a role for an experienced candidate, we would expect candidates to have a good knowledge in this field.
Additional and ongoing training will be supplied by Insafe, on client-specific products, to successful candidates.
Skills and experiences
- Both mechanical and electronic aptitude is essential.
- A reasonable level of IT literacy is essential as we use a mobile platform for allocating jobs and reporting. Laptops are also used for programming electronic safe locks.
- Experience in this field is a requirement.
- Ability to work on one’s own while performing remote site visits.
- A reasonable degree of physical fitness is required as the role can be physical from time to time.
- A full valid UK driving licence is essential.
- Since this role is within the security industry, candidates must not have a criminal record. CRB checks will be applied.
- Other details
- A liveried vehicle is supplied equipped with the necessary stock, key cutting machines etc.
- A mobile phone, laptop and tablet are provided.
- Company uniform and PPE are provided.
- 42.5hr standard week plus overtime (where available) and On-Call rota (one 7-day period per month).
- Holidays are 20 days per annum plus Public Holidays rising to 25 days.
- Salary is subject to experience and ability.
