Insafe International Limited is recruiting an experienced locksmith/safe engineer based in the Peterborough area. The role involves carrying out locksmithing and safe opening tasks at clients’ locations within a maximum of two hours travel time from home, including repairs to existing equipment, mechanical and electronic systems.
Responsibilities
- General locksmithing – lock fitting, cylinder changes, pinning, key cutting, code changes to coded door locks, etc.
- Safe opening & repair (dependent on ability).
- Installing electronic safe locks.
- Code changes to safe locks.
- Programming of electronic safe locks.
- Battery changes.
Training
Additional and ongoing training will be supplied by Insafe on client‑specific products to successful candidates.
Skills & Experience
- Both mechanical and electronic aptitude is essential.
- A reasonable level of IT literacy is essential – we use a mobile platform for allocating jobs and reporting, and laptops are also used for programming electronic safe locks.
- Experience in this field is required.
- Ability to work independently while performing remote site visits.
- A reasonable degree of physical fitness is required as the role can be physical from time to time.
- A full valid UK driving licence is essential.
- Criminal record check required (CRB checks applied).
Other Details
- A liveried vehicle is supplied, equipped with the necessary stock, key cutting machines, etc.
- A mobile phone, laptop and tablet are provided.
- Company uniform and PPE are provided.
- 42.5‑hr standard week plus overtime (where available) and on‑call rota (one 7‑day period per month).
- Holidays – 20 days per annum plus public holidays, rising to 25 days.
- Salary is subject to experience and ability.
