Senior Communications Manager - Shielded

Overview

Senior Communications Manager, Midnight. Shielded Technologies is a business technology provider and core contributor to the Midnight Network, a blockchain platform for developing decentralized applications that safeguard personal and commercial data. The Midnight Network offers programmable data isolation by leveraging zero-knowledge proofs to enable selective disclosure of what information is visible on-chain and is designed to help developers meet regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead communications strategy by defining and executing a comprehensive roadmap aligned with the company\’s mission and product offerings.
• Oversee development and placement of high-quality content with third-party publishers, including event talks, industry and analyst reports, podcasts, news outlets, and more.
• Manage media and analyst relations to establish the company\’s and its spokespeople\’s presence.
• Ensure technical leaders are represented at Midnight ecosystem events.
• Lead internal communications strategies to ensure transparency, alignment, and engagement across distributed teams.
• Own crisis and risk communications, developing plans with the legal and leadership teams to manage reputation risk.
• Promote the company\’s communications through its social channels (X, LinkedIn).
• Manage external public relations agencies and contractors.
• Report on metrics (e.g., media mentions, social engagement, internal communications effectiveness) and use insights to iterate messaging and optimize content strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor\’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a communications leader with a strong portfolio.
• Experience in high-growth technology environments; familiarity with blockchain, cryptography, or Web3 is a strong plus.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to write for executives, manage media relationships, and communicate clearly in complex and regulated environments.
• Ability to craft and execute a communications vision aligned with short- and long-term goals.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into accessible, impactful narratives.
• Strong ability to engage press, analysts, and influencers to build credibility.
• Proven leadership and mentorship skills across legal, technical, and leadership teams.
• Calm under pressure with experience handling time-sensitive communications needs.
• Versatility across marketing disciplines and willingness to take on varied roles as needed.
• Deep understanding of diverse audiences (developers, Web3 communities, regulators, partners, internal stakeholders) and how to tailor messaging for impact.
