Help Shape Compliant Procurement in a New Regulatory Era. The introduction of the Procurement Act 2023 is transforming how public sector organisations procure goods, services, and works. We're looking for a highly organised and proactive Procurement Officer to play a key role in supporting compliant, transparent, and effective procurement activity for our clients and consultancy business.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with procurement or business support experience who wants to develop their career in a consultancy environment and gain hands-on experience supporting regulated procurement activities under the Procurement Act 2023. Working remotely, with occasional travel across the UK, you'll support a dedicated housing association client alongside a range of consultancy projects, helping ensure procurement exercises, supplier management activities, and contract records are managed efficiently and in compliance with legislative and organisational requirements.

About the Role

As Procurement Officer, you will provide operational and administrative support across a wide range of procurement activities, helping to ensure procurement processes are delivered effectively, records are maintained accurately, and compliance obligations are met. A key aspect of the role will be supporting procurement activity carried out in accordance with the Procurement Act 2023, maintaining clear audit trails, managing procurement records, coordinating supplier information, and supporting the administration of tender processes from planning through to contract award and implementation.

Your role will include:

  • Supporting compliant procurement activity across public sector and regulated environments.
  • Assisting procurement consultants and managers in delivering procurement exercises under the Procurement Act 2023.
  • Maintaining accurate procurement records and auditable documentation to support governance and transparency requirements.
  • Managing procurement pipelines, contract registers, and supplier information.
  • Supporting supplier onboarding, due diligence, and compliance monitoring activities.
  • Coordinating tender documentation, clarification processes, evaluation administration, and award activities.
  • Producing procurement reports and management information to support decision-making and compliance monitoring.
  • Managing procurement mailboxes and stakeholder communications.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen procurement governance, reporting, and regulatory compliance.

About You

We're looking for a detail-oriented professional who understands the importance of robust procurement governance and can confidently support multiple procurement projects at the same time.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in procurement, contract management, project support, commercial administration, or a similar business support role.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience maintaining registers, databases, trackers, and management information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.
  • Experience handling confidential and commercially sensitive information.
  • Commitment to maintaining accurate records and supporting compliance requirements.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience supporting public sector procurement activity.
  • Understanding of the Procurement Act 2023 and its principles relating to transparency, competition, governance, and auditability.
  • Experience supporting procurement exercises through e-tendering platforms.
  • Knowledge of supplier onboarding, due diligence, and contract administration processes.
  • Experience maintaining contract registers and procurement records.
  • Experience within housing associations, local authorities, public sector organisations, or procurement consultancies.
  • CIPS qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
