About the role: Are you ready to take the next career step in Security? InPost Distribution is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Hub Security Officer to join our dynamic team at our Lutterworth Hub. At InPost, we're not just moving parcels we're moving fast. In this front-line role, you'll be based at the Security Control Centre where you'll play a key part in the smooth and efficient security operations at our hub. You'll be the first point of contact for staff and agency staff arriving onsite, monitoring staff through stationary scanners, wand scanners, physical searches, and bag searches. You will also play a key role in the gatehouse operations, access control, driver sign-in, visitor management, and barrier control. Ensure Staff, Managers and Agency follow company procedure when arriving onsite and is managed efficiently.
You'll also respond to drivers and visitors arriving onsite at the gatehouse, ensuring the sign in and out procedure is robust, management of barrier is controlled, seal checks, and appropriate security checks are conducted to an excellent standard. Security threats are escalated to the security manager.
Carrying Out Regular Yard Checks: You’ll be responsible for performing comprehensive yard checks at regular intervals throughout your shift. This includes visual checks of the perimeter to identify risk, breaches in fencing, vehicles that may have been compromised, secure carpark and elevate any suspicious activity.
Incident Reporting - Loss Investigation: You’ll report security incidents on our reporting tool in a timely manner, investigate loss by accessing security systems to establish root cause.
Monitoring Activity: Maintain constant security awareness of all activities in the warehouse, yard and carpark area by identifying any inconsistencies or suspicious activity. You’ll work closely with the Operations Managers and Supervisors to resolve problems quickly and ensure smooth day-to-day security operations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a security loss prevention environment is advantageous.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, to welcome visitors professionally and take a team working approach to liaising with colleagues across departments.
- Able to work independently without supervision, remain calm under pressure.
- Basic IT skills, i.e. email, MS Excel and ability to learn internal IT systems, CCTV.
- Accurate with strong attention to detail.
- Able to analyse data and have great investigation skills.
- The legal right to work in the UK - this is a requirement for all applicants.
