As a Financial Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting the financial integrity and strategic growth of our parcels division. This is a high-impact position where you'll own and streamline fixed asset processes across our APM and property networks, oversee capital investment governance, and partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure our projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in line with financial expectations. You'll combine technical accounting expertise with commercial insight, acting as both a financial guardian and a proactive business partner within a fast‑paced, growth‑driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Fixed Asset Management: Own and streamline fixed asset management processes across the parcels division, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Maintain a detailed fixed asset register, reconciling all fixed asset expenditures across APM and property networks.
- Project Involvement & Finance Project Management: Drive and support key strategic projects across the network, acting as a finance project manager to oversee capex spend, track progress against MCA submissions, and ensure alignment to budget. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across operations, property, network and technology to deliver financial insight, challenge assumptions, and enhance project performance. Provide proactive analysis, reporting, and governance to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in line with financial expectations.
- Capex Reporting: Manage, report, and analyse all capital expenditures, to drive strategic decision‑making. Develop insightful capex reports, providing key stakeholders with actionable insights.
- IFRS 16 Calculations: Lead IFRS 16 calculations and reporting, encompassing logistics, property, PUDO, and locker ground rent leases. Ensure compliance with IFRS standards and implement best practices in financial reporting.
- Financial Analysis and Forecasting: Assist in month‑end reconciliations, schedules, and processes to ensure timely and accurate financial close. Conduct financial analysis and reporting as required, contributing to strategic projects and assignments. Manage cashflow forecasting and debt calculations to support the division's financial reporting requirements.

Qualifications
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
- Proven experience in fixed asset accounting and maintaining asset registers within a complex or multi‑site environment.
- Strong understanding of Capex management, reporting, and financial controls.
- Hands‑on experience with IFRS 16 lease accounting and financial reporting compliance.
- Experience supporting or managing finance projects, tracking spend against budgets, and partnering with cross‑functional teams.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce clear, insightful financial reporting.
- Experience supporting month‑end close, reconciliations, cashflow forecasting, and debt calculations.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Highly organised, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders.
