This hands‑on field‑based role involves repairing parcel lockers on client sites with a focus on diagnostic, maintenance, and technical support. The position is based near Wolverhampton, with occasional visits to the office in Hemel Hempstead.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair faults and malfunctions of parcel locker machines (APMs) on site, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Maintain and modernise parcel locker machines, including implementing hardware and software upgrades to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Diagnose, reconfigure, and install computer software or firmware for electromechanical equipment, ensuring compatibility and security compliance.
- Process and report on assigned repairs using the organisation's communication channels.
- Manage tools and components for parcel locker machines.
- Handle systems for managing personnel‑related matters.
- Quality‑control work performed by internal employees and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to technical standards, contractual agreements, and company guidelines.
- Provide technical and substantive support to employees and subcontractors (including international ones) via company communication and IT channels.
- Participate in the development of solutions for new types of parcel locker machines.
- Prepare and update technical manuals and documentation.
Qualifications
- Similar experience in a field‑service technical engineering role on electrical/mechanical equipment.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing equipment, with experience in software configuration and firmware updates.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex technical issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide technical training.
- Ability to manage tasks efficiently, ensuring quality and meeting deadlines across multiple markets.
- High accuracy in quality control and documentation updates.
- Experience working with diverse teams, including international subcontractors and internal staff.
- Flexibility to travel for service and training activities within the UK and occasionally internationally.
- Familiarity with parcel locker or similar systems, electromechanical devices, and organisational IT tools.
- Effective time management and the ability to handle tools and components responsibly.
