InPost Distribution is looking for a proactive and detail oriented Gatehouse Coordinator to join our dynamic team at the Lutterworth Hub. In this front‑line role you will be based at either the inbound or outbound gatehouse and will play a key part in the smooth and efficient flow of trailers through the hub. You will be the first point of contact for visitors to the site and will be responsible for booking and checking vehicles and trailers in and out of the site, coordinating parking and trailer movements within the yard according to operational needs.

Salary: £14.48 per hour

What you’ll be doing:

  • Book trailers into the hub using the advanced Yard Management System (C3), accurately managing the booking in and out of all inbound and outbound trailers, and maintaining real‑time visibility of trailer movements.
  • Perform comprehensive yard checks at regular intervals, monitoring trailer positions, ensuring correct bay allocations and verifying compliance with health, safety and operational standards.
  • Act as a liaison between the Gatehouse and Shunting teams, responding to trailer‑related queries, providing clear instructions on trailer positioning and coordinating timely trailer movements to and from designated bays.
  • Maintain constant awareness of all yard activity, identify inconsistencies or operational issues, and work closely with Operations Managers to resolve problems quickly and ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.

What we need from you:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is advantageous.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills – welcome visitors professionally and collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, remain calm under pressure.
  • Basic IT skills, including email, MS Excel and the ability to learn internal IT systems (C3 Yard Management System).
  • High attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
  • Understanding and appreciation for health and safety compliance.
  • The legal right to work in the UK – this is a requirement for all applicants.
