About the role
Are you ready to take the next step in your logistics career? InPost Distribution is looking for a proactive and detail‑oriented Gatehouse Coordinator to join our dynamic team at our Lutterworth Hub. In this front‑line role you’ll be based at either the Inbound or Outbound Gatehouse, where you’ll manage the efficient flow of trailers through our hub. Using our Yard Management System, you’ll be the first point of contact for visitors, book and check vehicles and trailers in and out of the site, coordinate parking and trailer movements within the yard according to operational needs accurately and efficiently.

Shift Pattern: Various Hours
Salary: £13.75 per hour
What you’ll be doing:
- Booking trailers into the hub – utilize our Yard Management System (C3) to accurately manage bookings and maintain real‑time visibility of trailer movements.
- Carrying out regular yard checks – monitor trailer positions, ensure correct bay allocations, and verify compliance with health, safety and operational standards.
- Supporting yard operations & shunters – act as a liaison between the Gatehouse and Shunting teams, respond to trailer‑related queries, provide clear instructions on trailer positioning, and coordinate timely movements to and from designated bays.
- Monitoring yard activity – remain constantly aware of all yard activity, identify inconsistencies or operational issues, and work with Operations Managers to resolve problems quickly and ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.
What we need from you:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment advantageous.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills; professional visitor welcome and collaborative teamwork across departments.
- Ability to work independently, remain calm under pressure.
- Basic IT skills – email, MS Excel, and ability to learn internal IT systems (C3 Yard Management System).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Understanding and appreciation for health and safety compliance.
