Are you looking for your next step in transport operations or administration? We\’re on the lookout for a number of proactive and detail‑focused Gatehouse Operators to support our busy Transport Team in Hatfield.
In this key role, you\’ll help ensure our delivery schedules run smoothly by managing essential gatehouse processes and providing administrative support that keeps our operation compliant, efficient, and on time.
📍 Location: Hatfield
🕒 Hours: 40hrs per week
📅 Shift Pattern: (Various Shift Patterns available)
Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday 06:00 – 14:30
Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday 14:00 – 22:30
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday 14:00 – 22:30
💰 Salary: £27,685 Per Annum
What You’ll Be Doing
- Monitor planned transport schedules, flagging and escalating any issues to keep service levels on track.
- Support trailer allocation using our Transport Management Systems.
- Track vehicle arrivals and departures to ensure on‑time performance and SLA compliance.
- Monitor Working Time Directive rules (48‑hour average) and assist with tracking and reporting any driver infringements.
- Keep driver records up to date – including licence expiry dates, training records, and other key documentation.
- Liaise confidently with drivers, Shift Managers, and other stakeholders across the operation.
About You
You’ll already have experience in an Operator, Gatehouse, or Admin role – ideally in a fast‑paced logistics or transport environment.

- You\’re highly organised with strong attention to detail
- You’re confident using IT systems – especially Excel
- You\’re a clear and confident communicator
- You enjoy working with both data and people
- You’re able to prioritise workload in a busy, shift‑based role
- Knowledge of driver’s hours and WTD regulations is a bonus – but full training will be provided
